This is the first time that I'll post something that is somewhat relevant to my 'header'. Well, I think I posted something before, but now, I'm going to share something on how I lived and enjoyed my life in the province.
First, I really didn't expect that I'm going to pursue my college schooling here in The Big City. Supposed to be, my plan was in a University in Davao or in Iloilo. Its just like a bubble that had popped in a dirty-muddled-water that my father wanted me to study here. So, when he said that he wanted me to enroll in a school here in Manila, I hastily agreed for I wanted to experience what life that 'The Big City' can offer me.
But, there was a second thought on making such big decision. There was a feeling of "I don't want to leave my simple life in the province." Life in the province is very simple. There, you don't have to think very much on how to survive and how to live your life to the fullest. Here, (I don't know what to say).
During my pre-operational stage or let's say my toddler time, I'm not exposed on what other kids on my age did (learn). I can't even sing a simple nursery rhyme, recite letters A-Z or count 1-10. Yeah. I'm a mulish kid before that all I wanted to do is to play and have fun in the farm. Yes, I grew up in a rural area that I didn't even want to go school without a carabao carriage to fetch me. Haha. That was fun. I'm happy that I developed my thinking through nature. Some kids may sing 'Bahay Kubo' in school, me, I learned it while having my lunch eating almost of those vegetables that were mentioned in the song.
In the course of my concrete operational stage, in other words my elementary period. (Grade 5) I once went home having a wet pants. Haha. Yes, I went home with a wet pants. Why? My classmates and I had an unplanned getaway in my friend's pond to go fishing. I can still remember on how we managed to shoo a snake for it was blocking our way to the quarry. Digging worms as bait. Putting the worms in a can without any gloves. That was priceless. We even cooked the fish we caught for lunch. The funny part was the reason of why my pants got wet, it is not because of fishing but because we played in the 'poso'. Until now, my mother didn't have any idea that this happened. Lucky me.
Another thing I missed in the province is the inconsiderable curfew. I was once locked outside the gate because I went home late. To think that, its early as 6:00 pm in the evening. Haha. That's life in the province. Go home late, and you'll be dead.
I got so many kwento but it seemed that it'll cost a thousand post.
I'm a proud promdi. I've got so many experience that kids who grew up in the city will never ever experience.
GOOD NIGHT! Another lame long post. =)))
